If you just came out of a cave or could not reach the outside world via satellite link, you have probably heard of the game World of Warcraft. It's an online game called MMORPG, which is short for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

When I grew up, everyone played Dungeons and Dragons with dice and pencil and paper and sometimes (only the rich kids) with miniature figurines that were made of lead. That was as advanced as role-playing games got back then.

However though the desire to socialize with others, especially in a role-playing environment is still there.

World of Warcraft is the most perfect setting for today’s youth (and adults) to meet, socialize and role-play in a safe environment without having to leave the comfort and safety of their own homes. It is packed with enough stimulation for anyones sensory overload, offers different types of play to suit everyone’s needs or desires, and is massive enough to never get boring or repetitive as most games tend to be. Modern parents who fear that their son or daughter might break a bone riding a bike can feel safe knowing they are right in the house.

I have found there are also many full-grown adults playing the warcraft game. These are parents who would love to still be playing Dungeons and Dragons, but who would be embarrassed to ask their CPA to come on over for an evening of dice throwing and role-playing. World of Warcraft offers these people safety, also. Safety from embarrassment that they still want to game and role-play. They can “hide” behind the safety of a cartoon image and no one needs to know that they might be a 50-year-old stockbroker who spends his evenings as a Gnome Mage fighting evil with weapons and magic.

Is that a good or bad thing? Who knows. It's certainly not for me to say. What I can say with total certainty is, though, that World of Warcraft fulfills innate desires in many of us who play the game and will be with us for a long time to come. 5. Mortal Kombat

The one that started it all. While it may seem pixelated and dated now, it was undoubtedly the most violent video game of its time. Spawning a huge fanbase, a movie, and a plethora of sequels, most of us have probably played Mortal Kombat in at least one form of another.

Who can forget pulling in a victim with Scorpions snapping beak; "Get over here!" while following it up with a gruesome uppercut. The game used real life actors and mapped their faces onto sprites, creating a pretty strange yet realistic effect which made it all the more awesome when Sub Zero ripped someones head off, leaving their spine dangling below. 4. Carmageddon

Originally released in 1997, this is an oldie but goldie. It's still a thoroughly enjoyable game and was a breakthrough in its time with video scenes from inside the car and real world physics.

Think Mad Max on steroids and you'll start to get a feel for Carmageddon which is set in a post apocalyptic world where the car rules. The idea is to race against a handful of other modified death cars through various levels, including deserts, industrial areas and populated cities, all to the tune of Fear Factories Demanufacture album (hell yes!). However, if you don't feel like racing you can hunt down and destroy your enemies one by one until you're the only survivor. Amongst all this, not only can you run over pedestrians, but you're actively encouraged to do so, gaining extra time and credits for combo bonuses and "artist impressions" (which you get by utterly mangling a pedestrian).

Carmageddon caused media scandal when it first launched and in most countries a "safe" version was released with zombies, robots or aliens instead of people. In some countries the game was banned completely. None of this stops it from being an absolute classic and the first go-anywhere 3D driving game which spawned 2 successful sequels.

3. Thrill Kill

Originally called S & M for Slaughter and Mutilation, Thrill Kill for PlayStation was never released, it was axed 2 weeks before it was due to go out. EA said that they didn't want to "publish such a senselessly violent game" and stated it was so offensive that they wouldn't sell the game to another publisher either. Fortunately for us former employees of EA released it onto the internet which are still available.

Incredibly simple, Thrill Kill consisted of only a single room where up to 4 opponents fight to the death. The usual life bar is replaced with a kill meter, which grows as you do more damage to your opponent, eventually you're able to activate Thrill Kills which were always awesomely brutal, sometimes sexual, moves like dismemberment, mutilation, cattle prods down the throat or crushing skulls with stilts. Oh yes. One of Cleetus' lethal finishing moves was to tear the head off his opponent and drink the blood that leaked out of his victim's severed neck. The story goes that the 8 characters all led devious lives and died in various ways, have gone to hell. A modern day hell which reflects todays real life. Marukka, the God of Secrets has pitted them against each other, promising to give rebirth to the one survivor. Each character is battling for self-preservation and the hope to be born again.

Cleetus, for example, is a redneck cannibal. The only victim that he didn't eat escaped minus a leg, which Cleetus carries around for good luck (and occasionally uses as a weapon).
Dr. Faustus, a master surgeon, died from an infection after installing his stainless steel jaws, made from a bear trap.

Oddball was a top FBI agent who hunted down serial killers. He began to admire them and slowly slipped into insanity. Oddball is extremely intelligent, cunning, and without remorse. Pity, sympathy, and compassion have no meaning to him. Although his arms are bound in his cozy little straight jacket, he has learned to adapt, as any good predator should.

2. Postal 2

One feature in Postal 2 is the ability to pick up cats as an inventory item. When used, the player shoves the barrel of the currently equipped firearm into the cat's anus, as a 'silencer'. Every time a shot is fired, the cat meows in apparent agony, and the gunshot is muffled. After several shots the cat will be killed and will fly from the end of the weapon.

Any game where you can use a cat as a silencer has to be worth mentioning. Highly violent, both Postal and Postal 2 met with much protest from various activist groups. However, the Running With Scissors software company who created the series responded by saying that the amount of violence in the game is entirely dependent upon the player. In fact, it's actually possible (though very difficult) to complete the entire game without harming anyone.

The game is split from Monday to Friday and the tasks are simple things on a to-do list like 'Cash Paycheck', 'Confess sins', 'Get milk', etc. To accomplish these seemingly simple tasks, the player can chose to be peaceful or utterly, all out violent with unique gameplay changes for each choice.Some violent features include the ability to decapitate people with shovels, and then kick their heads around or play fetch with a dog, cops who beat innocent NPCs to death with batons, even if the NPC surrenders and begs for mercy and setting fire to people with gasoline, matches, napalm and moltov cocktails.Not content with just being violent, Postal 2 is also pretty disgusting. You have the ability to urinate on people, causing them to vomit in disgust. You can also urinate on food items which are then eaten and regurgitated by cops. Using an Antrhax-filled cow's head as a weapon causes victims to vomit blood. Oh and you can also stun gun people til they cower in fear and urinate themselves..Featuring ATF, SWAT, the National Guard, psycho butchers, religious cults, the Taliban and Gary Coleman, Postal 2 has earned itself a violent and revolting reputation and is illegal in at least 3 countries.

1. Manhunt

Quite possibly the most violent game in the list, Manhunt revolves around James Earl Cash who has been sentenced to death by lethal injection. His injection is replaced with a sedative and Cash is abducted by a wealthy Hollywood director. The director has a thing for Snuff flicks and sets up Cash as his latest star, butchering local gangs on film in the most violent and horrific ways possible.

The director communicates with Cash via an earpiece and security cameras record his murders. For extra points the player must carry out more gruesome kills. These range from suffocation by plastic bag, decapitation, jamming a crowbar in the enemys skull, etc.

Manhunt was banned outright in several countries when it was launched and later in the UK the game was linked to an actual murder case of a 14 year old, Stefan Pakeerah by a 17 year old, Warren Leblanc. Stefans mother claimed that Leblanc had been obsessed with Manhunt after he pleaded guilty in court and as such most vendors in the UK removed Manhunt from their stocks. This led to a significant increased demand from other retailers and internet auction sites. Police denied any link, but it still strikes a chilling cord. Especially when you consider that Leblanc murdered his friend by stabbing him with a claw hammer, identical to an execution shown in Manhunt.

When you are playing World of Warcraft it's not uncommon to find yourself in a situation where you need to gain some skill levels quickly, and you don't mind spending some cash to do it. This guide describes how to get started on Mining, by taking advantage of the smelting options.

Now there's two ways to level your mining skill. You can travel the world smacking nodes with your pick, or you can smelt raw ore for some quick and easy levels. If you want to bash nodes then good for you, but if you want to get through the low levels quickly then get out your purse, because it's going to cost you some cash. But hey - cause I'm nice I'll tell you how to get that money back later on.

To start with head to the Auction house and buy around 100 copper. This should be enough to get you through to level 65 mining just like that. Theoretically you can actually get by with just 65, but theory and reality don't always align quite right. For level 65 through 90 you'll want to be smelting bronze bars. You can either buy up the necessary copper and tin bars from the auction house, or you can buy the raw ore and smelt the bars yourself, then smelt them together to get your bronze bars.

So far so good, but now you have to start spending some serious cash. You need to buy silver ore and smelt it into silver bars. This costs a lot, so do it bit by bit. You need to get from 90 to 125 on silver, so start by buying at least 35, and then buy more if you need it.

From 125 to 140 you need to smelt Iron bars. Again, buy the ore as you need it rather than upfront, unless you are rolling in cash. Once you hit 140 you have gone as far as you can with pure smelting. You are going to have to get your pick out for a few levels, because you can't smelt gold ore until level 155. Probably the best place to be mining at this point is the Arathi Highlands in the Eastern Kingdom. You don't need to pick up too many levels before you can break out the cheque book again and start buying gold ore to smelt.

That should get you well on your way to power leveling your mining skill. I did mention earlier that there was a way to make cash out of all this. Well, ever wonder how all that ore gets into the auction house in the first place? Why not set yourself up as a supplier? Or better yet, you can set up as a power supplier. Get 2-3 players working for you, guarantee them a set rate, add a little something in for yourself and then sell it on. People are always looking for ore, and with a little organisation you have have a constant supply AND people coming to you because they know you can deliver.

Try it, you might just be surprised.

9. Saints Row - Action

As a low-level thug in the Third Street Saints, you'll do whatever it takes to get the money and build the respect and power you need to muscle your way to the top. Be careful, though. Your actions have consequences within the game, and around every corner lurks a new threat.

Numerous vehicles are available to "borrow," pedestrians can be slugged or robbed at gunpoint, and there are an assortment of missions to advance the game's primarily storyline. Some features include: fun, responsive driving controls; excellent on-foot shooting action; impressive presentation, featuring amazing explosions and great audio; and a well-written, well-acted story to compel you to keep playing.

10. Hitman: Blood Money - Action

On the run from rival assassins, Agent 47 hops a plane to take care of business stateside in Hitman: Blood Money. Players will guide Agent 47 through a number of locales, including New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas as he performs hits. It's up to the player to determine the manner in which a hit is executed, but the "rookie training" mode can show amateur assassins how to help targets have "accidents," by pushing the victim over a ledge or pinning him underneath a heavy object.

The amount of money earned from completed jobs varies depending on the cleanliness and professionalism of the hit. Agent 47's paychecks can be spent in a number of ways including bribing reporters, customizing weapons with one of 15 upgrades, or paying pedestrians for information. Open-ended stealth action gameplay lets you sneak around, or run and gun; beautifully crafted mission set pieces seem appropriately big and complex; large variety of realistic weapons; and great combination of action and strategy.

If you are would-be seller of eBay, there are certain things you must know. While selling on eBay has tremendous profit potential, it's important to play by the rules in order to enjoy a long association with the numero-uno auction site in the world. Ebay does not take too kindly to sellers who go against the rules and regulations of eBay and at times, even ban such sellers permanently. So, do some homework before you go ahead with your business plan. Know what's expected from you as a registered seller on eBay. Though you can sell almost everything on eBay, there are certain items that are strictly prohibited and you must avoid them at all costs. Let me elaborate on some of the items that can spoil your relations with EBay if you offer them on sale in your eBay listings.

Copyright infringement is something that's just not tolerated by the eBay folks so stay away from knock offs of music, movies, or popular TV shows if you don't want to land up in prison. Also forget those "bootleg" movies that are made by guys who secretly record newly released movies in theaters and then sell them at incredibly low prices. Similarly, sale of computer games and software that's copied is also not approved by eBay.

The "replica" market is flourishing by the day, as people buy duplicate products of popular brands. Although such products are widely sold in physical stores, forget selling duplicate handbags, or replicas of designer sunglasses through your eBay listings.

There are countless sellers out there who simply love to steal copyrighted stuff of other sellers and sell them on their own listings. Forget offering alcoholic beverages in your eBay listings or else you will be in "big" trouble with eBay. Needless to say, items such as cigars, cigarettes, and smokeless tobacco are also a strict no-no when it comes to eBay. Not even coupons for these items will be tolerated! Since sale of firearms is controlled by US law, you are not allowed to sell them on eBay. Also prohibited are satellite and cable TV descramblers and the Federal Trade Commission has stringent rules and regulations regarding the same.

And lastly, don't even think of selling animals and wildlife products! So sale of pelts and stuffed birds is out of question… Although limited sale of animal related products such as tortoise shell, ivory, and variety of marine products is found on eBay, I strongly recommend that you double check the laws regarding sale of such items.
